Tees Valley Airport Minibus Taxi and Coach Hire

The greater teeside or Tees Valley, slightly North East of England, is one of four unitary authorities that came from the breakup of Cleveland County. Tees Valley is urban in nature, but there is a rural valley area known as Teesdale. Many locals despise the name Tees Valley, and many refer to the airport simply as Durham Tees Valley Airport. Locals believe bureaucrats have unfairly changed the name without consulting its inhabitants.  The economy in Tees Valley includes hunting, forestry, construction, energy systems, and financial services. To get around this rather intimate town or if Tees Valley Airport transfers are needed, taxi services and minibus hire companies are abounding, and waiting outside the airport terminal.

Among all of the redevelopment programs currently in mid-stride at many of the UK's finest airports, the Durham Tees Valley Airport is currently under a vast expansion program, which happens to include a new access road, a new terminal interior, and airfield lighting. The airport can now handle three million passengers per year. In 2006 several councils approved two additional plans including new check-in facilities, office space, lounges, restaurants, and retail. Moreover, nine more aircraft stands and close to five thousand car spaces are currently in the works. Future improvements also include a 100-bed hotel, although there has been a recent impasse, as the airport does not like the fact that the development is supposed to take place by outside companies. For transportation to and from the Tees Valley Airport, a recent bus service was created to connect the airport to the Darlington's Rail Service, and passengers were free, but the operation stopped in January 25, 2009. The airport does have its own railway station-yet its services are quite poor because it is so remote-literally a fifteen minute walk to the terminal. The services are so bad that a carefully orchestrated march took place, as people walked the distance to highlight the inconvenience, the amount of time that it takes to do so, and to convince rail authorities to move it much closer. This is why Tees Valley transfers require taxi services instead of the ineffective method of the railway. Groups may require a minibus hire service for airport transfers. Lastly, there is a lot of flight training, aviation clubs, and business charters that compete with standard airport travel.
